NETPWD 1.1 Beta Release
Network ACAD.PWD Log Utility for AutoCAD Release 11 & 12
(c) COPYRIGHT NECAD Northside, Inc. 1990, 1991, 1992 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
INTRODUCTION
NET11 & NET12 are utilites that help you manage the logins on a multi-node
AutoCAD package. If a person crashes AutoCAD and stays logged into the
ACAD.PWD file, you can use these utilities to repair that PWD file with-
out having to log other users off of the network, or reconfiguring AutoCAD!
These executables can also be used to repair a single node version of AutoCAD,
if you are receiving errors at the time of login like: Maximum number of users
has been reached, or Login XXXX already in use.
NET11 & NET12 ARE FREEWARE, with one exception. If you decide you like NET11 &
NET12, all we ask is that you visit our bulletin board and contribute an AutoCAD
related upload! The NECAD BBS is a 24hr Wildcat! BBS. Non-AutoCAD user's are
restricted on the board durring normal business hours.

When you unpack NETPWD you will see three files:
NETPWD.DOC (This document file)
NET12.EXE The Release 12 version of the executable.
NET11.EXE The Release 11 version of the executable.
RUNNING NETPWD
NET11, or NET12 can be placed inside your AutoCAD directory or the dir-
ectory that contains the ACAD.PWD file, or place the NET11 or NET12.EXE
file in a directory that is in your path ie.
\BIN \DOS ect...
To run:
Just type NET11 or NET12 from the directory that the ACAD.PWD is in.
NETPWD will list the users logged in to that PWD file and show you which
nodes are "Logged Out". You press the node number to log out a node that
should not be there.
A line entry, on the menu, that is preceeded by a number, is a logged in node.
An entry with a number, bank login name and the words "-Logged Out-" is an
entry that has been freed up with NETPWD. An entry missing the first letter
of the login name and the words "-Logged Out-" is a clean log out made by
AutoCAD.
WARNING:
If you log out a user that is currently working in AutoCAD it will cause him
to crash as soon as he uses the SAVE or PLOT command. He will be able to save
his changes, but he will have to restart AutoCAD to continue!
I is always a good idea to BACK UP YOUR ACAD.PWD! I usually make a copy in a
directory called PWD_SAVE. This must be done when all users are logged out of
AutoCAD.
